Seasick Steve

Well Seasick Steve gig was last night at the ABC in Glasgow and what a gig it was he played to a packed crowd and everyone seemed to be right up for it including the man himself

Managed to get some pics from the front before security said the camera was pro and asked me to delete them which i did (DOH) and promptly got them all back again when I got home using this free recovery software from Convar it even picked up images long deleted from a formatted card ...lol

Anyway here is one pic from last night of Steve and his Drummer who is Swedish even though he looks like a old American like Steve

I had the flash mounted behind me up high bouncing off the ceiling onto a white backgound behind Sophie to give a clean backgound

Wireless Flash Triggers Are Here

My Triggers from Gadget Infinity arrived on Friday which was most unexpected as I thought it would be another 10 days at least not bad only 5 working days from Hong Kong !!

On the downside one of the receivers wouldnt trigger the flash even though the test from the transmitter fired the receiver but when connecting the receiver to the flash it would fire but just not with the transmitter sending the signal, I think there may be a wiring problem so will send that one back and get it replaced

Will try to get some pics done with off camera flash and post the results here

Well worth the money considering the price of the alternatives I think

Going to see Seasick Steve on Monday 28th @ the ABC in Glasgow for those of you that dont know his music check out his performance from Jools Hollands Hootenanny 2007 on You Tube

Would love to take the camera with me and get some shots of him but dont think I will be able to take it into the venue hopefully find out for future gigs there

Dragan Effect Take 2

After having a go with a pic of my Dad I thought I would try one of myself shot using the camera on timer mode with the SB-28DX flash set to bounce of the ceiling while the camera was sitting on the floor and i lay in front of it trying to do a dead body pose ...lol

Wireless Flash Triggers

Just ordered some wireless triggers from Gadget Infinity in Hong Kong went for the V2s as this is the latest model and also an extra receiver to go with it so that I can have eventually 2 off camera flashes setup

Should be here within 15 days so will post some pics up when I get them

Speelight Update

My SB-28DX arrived yesterday so need to try and get the remote triggers from ebay so that i can try the off camera flash stuff will post some pics when i get a chance to take some ...lol

Nikon Speedlight

Still waiting on my recent Ebay purchase of a Nikon SB-28DX Speedlight arriving from the States
Hopefully when i get it i can then see about getting another older speedlight ie SB-24, SB-26, SB-28/DX so that i can try the off camera lighting techniques as shown on the strobist blog
Then maybe get the wireless triggers from ebay for about £25 to fire them
Hoping that Monday will be the day it arrives ....lol

Dragan Effect

This was my first attempt at using the automated photoshop filter to do the Dragan effect slightly over the top and my Dad who is the subject of the picture says he looks like an extra from the Omen !!!
